Brooke Lodge 2005 which was consecrated in 1884 is part of the United Grand Lodge of England and is located at 16 High Beech Road, Loughton.
Freemasonry has three core principles:
Brotherly Love. Every Freemason will show tolerance and respect for others and will behave with compassion and understanding.
Relief. Freemasons are taught to help those in distress without detriment to their dependents, and to give their support to outside charities.
Truth. Freemasons strive for truth in themselves and with others. Every Freemason requires high moral standards in their public and private lives.
Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest and largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations.
It teaches self-knowledge through participation in a progression of ceremonies. Members are expected to be of high moral standing and are encouraged to speak openly about Freemasonry.
Make friends, help people, enjoy good company…
In the UK alone, there are over 250,000 Freemasons which meet regularly in their respective Lodges. We believe (like all Freemasons) that family comes before Freemasonry, so our meeting times have little or no impact on family and business life.
We meet on Saturday mornings just 4 times a year.
We build good friendships and support each other
We encourage diversity which makes all of us unique and that includes our backgrounds, personality, life experiences and beliefs.
- We have Masons in our Lodge of all ages
Brooke Lodge 2005 supports many local charities and good causes.
We raise money for good causes and charities
Every year, Essex Freemasons raise and donate around £1 million to more than 700 different charities. Freemasonry in Essex thrives with money raised at social events, by raffles and similar competitions within lodges, alms collections, etc
Brooke Lodge 2005 sponsors the local football team Chigwell Wolves FC.
